MyShopCarts automatically protects your Magento store with regular backups, helping you recover quickly if something goes wrong.
Backups are included as part of the managed hosting platform and do not require any manual setup from you.
Consistent Point-in-Time Backups
Magento does not rely on just one database. A modern Magento store uses several connected services that all work together at the same time.
That is why MyShopCarts creates atomic backups across the full Magento environment. This means all important services are backed up together at the same moment in time.
When a backup is restored, your store is returned to a consistent state from that exact moment.
What is included in a backup?
Each backup is designed to cover the complete Magento application stack, including:
- Magento application data
- MariaDB / MySQL database
- OpenSearch
- Redis
- RabbitMQ / ActiveMQ
- Varnish
Why are atomic backups important?
If each service is backed up separately, the database, search index, cache, and message queues may all represent slightly different moments in time.
This can create inconsistencies during recovery.
Atomic backups avoid this problem by capturing the full environment together, so recovery is aligned across all Magento services.
How long are backups kept?
MyShopCarts keeps multiple restore points using the following retention policy:
- 72 hourly backups
- 14 daily backups
- 4 weekly backups
- 3 monthly backups
This gives you recent recovery points as well as longer-term restore options.
Can my store be restored from a backup?
Yes. If recovery is required, your Magento environment can be restored to one of the available backup points.
Because the backup is consistent across all services, the restored store reflects the state of the application at that exact point in time.
Do I need to configure anything?
No. Backups are automatically configured, scheduled, and monitored by MyShopCarts as part of the managed platform.
