Acceptable Use Policy
Last updated: 12 September 2026
This policy keeps MyShopCarts safe, legal, and reliable for everyone. It is part of our Terms of Service — breaking this policy is a breach of that agreement. It applies to you, your Store, your staff, and your Shoppers. We've kept it practical rather than exhaustive: if something clearly fits the spirit of a rule below, treat it as covered.
1. Use the Service lawfully
You'll use MyShopCarts only for lawful purposes and in line with all laws that apply to you and your Store — including consumer-protection, advertising, tax, product-safety, export, sanctions, and data-protection laws. You're responsible for having the licences and permissions your business needs.
2. What your Store may not sell or contain
You may not use your Store, or allow it to be used, to offer, promote, or distribute:
- Illegal goods or services, or anything you're not licensed to sell.
- Counterfeit, pirated, or IP-infringing goods or content.
- Regulated products sold unlawfully — e.g. weapons, drugs or controlled substances, prescription medicines, tobacco/vaping, alcohol, gambling, or financial products — where you don't meet the legal requirements (including age verification) for selling them.
- Child sexual abuse material, or any content that sexualises minors — zero tolerance; we report as required by law.
- Content that is unlawful, defamatory, harassing, hateful, or that incites violence, or that infringes others' privacy or IP rights.
- Stolen data, credentials, or facilities for fraud (e.g. carding, phishing kits).
3. Don't harm the platform or others
You may not:
- attempt to gain unauthorised access to, disrupt, or degrade the Service, the platform, or any other customer's Store or data;
- probe, scan, or test the security of the platform without our written permission, or bypass usage limits, quotas, or access controls;
- upload malware, or use your Store to distribute malware or launch attacks;
- use the Service to mine cryptocurrency, run unrelated background workloads, or use resources in a way that destabilises shared infrastructure or materially degrades service for others;
- resell or provide the Service to third parties except as expressly allowed.
Your plan comes with resources and limits described in the Service Specific Terms. If your usage threatens stability or other customers, we may contact you, throttle, or (if needed) suspend, as set out in the Terms of Service.
4. Email and messaging
Because we send email on your behalf and share sending reputation across the platform, email rules matter:
- Send transactional email only — order confirmations, account and security messages, and similar messages your Shoppers expect from your Store.
- No bulk or unsolicited marketing / spam. Don't send to purchased, rented, scraped, or non-consented lists. Large-scale marketing campaigns belong on a dedicated email-marketing service, not MyShopCarts' transactional sending.
- Follow anti-spam law (e.g. the EU e-Privacy rules / GDPR consent, and equivalent laws where your Shoppers are), including honouring unsubscribe/opt-out requests.
- Don't spoof, forge headers, or send in a way that gets our sending infrastructure blacklisted. We may throttle or suspend sending, and may charge reasonable clean-up costs, to protect deliverability for everyone.
5. Data and privacy
- You're responsible for your Shoppers' personal data in your Store, and for giving them the privacy notices and obtaining the consents the law requires — including for any AI features you enable. Our respective data-protection roles are set out in the Data Processing Agreement.
- Don't use the Service to collect or process personal data unlawfully.
6. Security hygiene
- Use strong, unique credentials and enable available security features.
- Keep the extensions, themes, and code you install updated and patched.
- Tell us promptly if you become aware of a security incident affecting your Store or account.
7. Enforcement
If you break this policy we may, depending on severity and as set out in the Terms of Service, ask you to fix it, disable the offending content or code, throttle, suspend, or terminate. Where the content is clearly illegal or poses an urgent risk to the platform or others, we may act immediately and tell you afterwards. We'll always aim to be proportionate and to give you a chance to put things right where it's safe to do so.
